Acapulco!!!

Hi Everyone, Ben was transferred to Acapulco, on the pacific coast. Its beautiful there, and he's SO excited, I thought I'd post the pictures he sent us and his email from today. Love, Allison

Hey everyone thanks for the emails and pics hope your enjoying the winter wonderland up there. So I got to my new area Tuesday. I got changed the Acapulco!! Its sooo awsome here I love it. My area is the hills that surround acapulco. Its the steepest area in the mission its all ups and downs. But its so different here than Morelos. Its hot and humid and it feels like Puerto Vallarta. But I like the heat here it doesnt bother me that much you just get used to sweating all day. When I was coming here on the bus I watched everything go from dead and brown to lush and green as we got closer to Acapulco. And also the people here are so much darker than in Morelos. And they speak with a strong accent. They cut off all the S´s kind of like in Spain its funny to hear them talk. And everywhere you go hear you can see Kites up in the air. All the kids play with kites here. And there arent combies here, they are busses like in cuernavaca. But all of the busses have names and are all painted and music blasting. Its awsome. There is a member that drives one and the bus is called Moroni and inside its all painted with people from the Book of Mormon. And our house is awsome its the best house I´ve had. I love everything about being here its the bomb!! My comps name is elder Ramos. Hes cool he has 1 change in the mission, is from Sinaloa and is 18. Its funny seeing how he teaches and uses all the MTC techniques. But hes cool and we have fun together. We eat with a mamita here ever day exept Sundays. Shes really nice and cooks really tight stuff. I was so sad to leave my other area. When I said good bye to Gerson and Naomi, the kids we baptised, they were balling their eyes out and screaming like someone was cutting their foot off!! I felt bad but told them I´d be back. And the family Del Valle invited us to eat KFC at their house with Renya who we baptised. It was sad saying good bye but i´ll always keep in contact with them. The work here is awsome in Acapulco. We are teaching a lot of people and have challenges for baptism. We are the missionaries for 2 wards here. Cumbres at 8:30 then Cima at 12:30. So in the morning we pass by for people then at 11:30 leave and do it again! The wards are smaller than my other ones but we have 2 so I guess its the same. Our church building is really nice. Has Air conditioning but like always they dont use it! In our principles class I asked if they wanted me to turn the AC on and this lady was like [ no its fine like this]! I was like, no you di ent! So im going to leave sacrament early to go turn it on!!! We are teaching a family that live in the middle of the jungle that are awsome. Its a dad and his 3 kids like that are in their late 20´s. And the whole time I was teaching the kids were giggling that I was an American and asking me funny questions. But they accept everything super good. In the jungle parts their are more pigs than dogs running around. But I love it here so much and glad I got to serve in Acapulco its just were i wanted to go. Also elder sessions and Reyes my old comps are in my zone, they are companions. Im district leader here so Saturday I had to do 6 interviews all over the place. We were crammed in a little Nissan Tsuru for like 30 minutes winding around the coast and dieing from calor. But this could be my last area, I only have 4 changes left!! So weird. I dont want my mission to end Im loving everything about it. The people and sights here are so amazing I know im going to have some great experiences. Hey mom and dad in mexiland and ash and al and jay in the U.s. Sounds like you`ll have a great B day mom. Glad you will be in Mexico and can enjoy that hot weather. Wish I could be there with you guys! But I dont feel bad, I love being here too and will be there with you guys later. I didnt know everyone else was going down too, that will be a blastoff. Mom I said my area is like a movie becuase its sooo pretty here! On sundays we eat with a member that drives us up to her house an hour away from the church up in the moutains. All surrounding are moutians you can climb and big feilds of cactus. I cant wait for you to come here! You are going to want to buy a house. So this week was so good. That family that I contacted in the store have been progressing prefect. It is the mom and her 3 little kids. The kids are so cute when they see us they run and give us hugs and we always do magic for them and play with them. We visit them almost every day and teach them and they feed us dinner. When we taught them about baptism we challened them and they all said yes! It made me feel soooo good. They are the nicest people ever. The pic is us playing dominos! They play the same way down here its so fun. The kids names are, Andra 11, Fernando 7 and Abby 6. We have 5 baptisms planned for the 22th of November of people we have been teaching. So everyone pray for them please! So on tuesday we ate with a lady that gave us 4 hambergers each! She didnt ask us she just served us 4. And her old mom was sitting there staring at us and every time we took a drink we filled our glass back up. I was DYING because I need to drink water to pass down the hambergers becuase I was so full but couldnt drink water because grandma kept filling my glass up! My comp and I were about to explode! But we finally finished them after like an hour. Then we had a cita with Edilia from the store and she gave us tamalies and cookies! Her mom was like I just baked them you have to try them. And we cant refuse becuase the people get super offended. So I was struggling to eat the cookie and the mom was like¨oh you dont like it do you¨just because I wasnt eating it super fast. The people here are religious about the food more than my other areas and I think more than any other part of the world! They get offended if you refuse even a glass of pop. And if you leave food or dont eat fast they tell you ^oh i wont make this because you dont like it¨its so annoying!! Sometimes I just have to be straight and tell them people I dont want it. Or say it makes me sick or something, but Dad and jay Im sure you know how it is. You guys all got to play dominos like I am with this family because its tradition! There are really cool wooden ones that they bought at the Caves, I didnt see them when I went there but will look for some to take home. My comp is really cool. We get a long good and he works hard too. Mom I really like the ties and pants you put in my package and am eating all the candy and sharing with the boxer dog every night, he likes treats. Today we ate with that famliy I took the picture of with the 3 little kids. It was so fun we were doing magic and making them laugh. Cant wait to come back so you guys can meet all these people. Im really loving my mission now. Its going by so fast and I dont want it to end! I almost have 15 months now and its almost the new year again. Well thanks for all the emails and pictures. Here are some picture Ben sent us of he and his companion and their TINY apartment! Looks like a really beautiful place though. I set this blog up for Elder Rencher so that he could get on and upload his photos and videos and keep us all updated on what he's doing without having to email everyone individually.
